PaintShop Pro X9 from Corel Corporation is an application for photo editing, yet another update of PaintShop Pro with brand new features and enhancements.
First of all, the new features include some project templates and text presets — quite a time-saving tool. Then, there is a screenshot tool, which allows not only to capture a screenshot of whatever you want but to edit, annotate, and save it.
As for editing existing photos, the most significant change in the new version is brand new Gradient Fill — a faster and easier interactive tool. The next ones are long awaited exporting option for edit history and easy quick fixes all of us need when working with photos. Crop and straighten tools, some retouch and red eye removal are taking only one click now.
The new version also provides support for 15 new camera RAW profiles. It still doesn't make PaintShop Pro on even grounds with much more flexible Adobe products, but somehow closes the gap, making PSP a nice and affordable alternative.
What else? Now, PaintShop Pro supports Windows Real Time Stylus. If you own one of those, you may want to check out the full functionality of PaintShop Pro X9. Also, the application provides Intel RealSense XDM support.
The performance of the software stays as fast as ever, it still has an extensive range of tools, effects, and brushes to work with, and the interface has been tweaked again, becoming even more comfortable and easy to use.
